Grant Burge launches Smart Phone App
Grant Burge Wines, one of the Barossa’s most famous family-owned wine brands, has launched their very own iPhone app, believed to be the first transactional ‘wine sales’ app for an Australian Winery. UK customers can now browse and purchase Grant Burge Wines on their phone for delivery to friends and family anywhere within Australia.
Over 150 years of family winemaking has taught Grant Burge to adapt to the changing demands of consumers: “I spent my youth immersed in the wine industry, learning about wine business and traditional winemaking techniques. These skills have served me well throughout my career. However it’s important that this is paired with a modern approach to marketing and communications, particularly in this digital age,” said Grant.
It has always been a priority for the Grant Burge brand to be approachable and accessible. “We’ve built world distribution networks and strong customer relationships through our cellar door and wine clubs. We also have a consumer-friendly website and an active social media presence. The iPhone app is just another step in this direction.” said Grant.
This first stage of the app provides customers world-wide with a user-friendly experience to browse and purchase the full wine range for delivery anywhere within Australia. It also gives direct access to special case deals. In addition, during July and August, customers who download the app can purchase Cellar door exclusive wines – including the highly collectable 1887 Shiraz. Future upgrades to the app will provide users with priority club access along with a push notification service which will assist the team in making personalised suggestions based on a customer’s previous buying habits.
“Statistics have shown* that by 2015 brands will be generating 50% of web sales through social media and mobile platforms with a projection of $30 billion globally,” Grant said.
