Bibendum confirms sale of Argento
Bibendum Wine has confirmed it has sold the Argento Wine Company to the Argentine group, Inversora Agroindustrial
Sudamerican.
The company will increase winery and vineyard capacity under new ownership, gaining full access to some of the most
prestigious vineyards in the Agrelo and Uco Valley regions of Mendoza.
Inversora owns several hundred hectares of premium vineyards in Mendoza as well as Bodega Vistalba, Bodega Garzon in
Uruguay and Renwood Winery in Amador County, California.
Michael Saunders, managing director, Bibendum Wine, said: "This is a very exciting development for the Argento business.
With the strong distribution platform and unique brand position that Argento enjoys, this recent move will serve to
further strengthen its winemaking and fruit sourcing capacity, enabling Argento to build on its position as one of the
leading wine brands from Argentina.
The Argento Wine Company will continue to operate as it currently does with offices in London, Mendoza and Europe.
Argento was launched in 1999 and is sold in over 50 countries around the world. Its main markets include Canada, the UK,
the Netherlands, the USA, Denmark, Sweden and the UAE.
