Yakima Valley Wineries Pairing Red Wine and Chocolate in time for Valentine's Day

YAKIMA, Wash. - Wineries across the Yakima Valley will be spreading the love on Valentine's Day and through the weekend with the help of some chocolate.

Members of Wine Yakima Valley will be pairing their reds with chocolate for the special event starting on Feb. 14 and continuing through President's Day Weekend.

Anders Zwartjes is the manager of Gilbert Cellars in Yakima. He says Red Wine & Chocolate will not only help wineries get their name out but also show the public how much of a connection they have to wine.

"It brings people in the community out and it also shows people what wine can do, how it really is a part of your daily life," said Zwartjes. "It goes well with the foods we consume on a daily, a weekly, a monthly basis."

Gilbert Cellars had chocolate made specifically for this weekend, they will also have live music in their tasting room on Saturday. They are located on 5 N. Front Street Suite #100 in Yakima.
