Jackson Family Enterprises (JFE) today announced the hire of two new senior communications executives, Carolyn Wasem to the role of senior vice president of government relations and external affairs, and Jason J. Hunke as vice president of communications. The two join the prestigious winemaker as the communications team continues to grow with the business and both will report to Caroline Shaw, the company’s chief communications officer.
Wasem was previously a consultant to JFE and will continue to support the organization’s work with various regulatory agencies, liaise with local, state and federal government leaders, and develop collaborative, comprehensive conservation plans that address challenges related to land use and natural resource impacts. Prior to her work in the California wine industry, Wasem coordinated various political activities including candidate, issue and grassroots campaigns at both the local and federal level. She brings with her a wealth of experience as a community volunteer, where she became familiar with the grant writing process and funding opportunities available to support community and sustainability efforts.
“I have known the Jackson family for years,” said Carolyn Wasem, the new senior vice president of government relations and external affairs. “They are a wonderful family and I share their philosophy of community, collaboration and sustainability. I look forward to partnering with their creative and highly professional management team to support their continued growth and evolution.”
“As Jackson Family Enterprises continues to evolve its strategic communications programs across our industry and around the world, we’re thrilled to have identified additional talent who bring proven and new leadership and excellence to our organization,” said Caroline Shaw, chief communications officer.
