The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) is heading up for this year’s marketing campaign “Hong Kong Food and Wine Year” with the launch of “Hong Kong Wine and Dine Celebrations” running from October 30 through November 8 to showcase wines from international wineries and local culinary delights along with other spectacular gastronomic events.
Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival (30 October – 1 November, 2009)
The event will be a spectacular gathering of wine, food, music and fun, where locals and overseas visitors can savor famous-brand wines from wineries all over the world paired with myriads of gastronomic delights. Held at the best vantage point of West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade overseeing beautiful views of Victoria Harbour, this event also grants you an opportunity to participate in various culinary classes ranging from wine appreciation to wine tasting, together with live entertainments like jazz, dance and rock music to fill the air.
Street Carnival (6-8 November, 2009)
Fill yourself up with a great time at “Street Carnival”! Following the theme of passion and fun of South Africa, two famous nightlife districts in Hong Kong – Lan Kwai Fong and Soho – will keep you entertained throughout the night with a cluster of good food and good wines with magnificent performances.
The HKTB has also joined with local wine shops and restaurants to set up culinary tours held in different themes to visit Hong Kong’s famous attractions and taste the city’s culinary delights. Plus, you can also join a selection of cooking classes how to make Chinese-style Dim Sum or do a perfect wine pairing.
