The state-run Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corporation (aT) on Thursday unveiled measures to boost exports of agricultural products.
The measures include a TV commercial promoting traditional Korean rice wine makgeolli in Japan. It will be aired for two months from November to December this year.
Makgeolli is growing popular in Japan.
This is the first time a state-run company has promoted rice win on TV. The commercial targets Japanese women in their 20s to 40s who are interested in health and Korean culture.
aT will also hold promotional events for Japanese buyers and at Korean restaurants in Japan. It aims to export makgeolli to other countries too, including China.
