Father’s Day drink inspired gifts(2)

Caliche Rum is a product collaboration of Roberto Serrallés of Destilería Serrallés, a renowned sixth generation family-owned rum business, and prominent hospitality and nightlife impresario, Rande Gerber.

With Father’s Day right around the corner, there is no better way to kick-off summer and celebrate Dad than a fresh take on an old classic, the Caliche Old Fashioned.

Mix up a couple this weekend with the recipe below.

Caliche Old Fashioned
· 2 oz. Caliche Rum
· 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
· ½ oz. sugar cane syrup
· 1 maraschino cherry
· 1 orange wedge

Mix sugar cane syrup and angostura bitters in an old fashioned glass. Drop in a cherry and an orange wedge. Muddle into a paste using a muddler or the back end of a spoon. Pour in the Caliche Rum, fill with ice cubes and stir for at least 10 seconds or until well chilled. Garnish with a orange twist and a cherry.
